We welcome you to the world as seen through the eyes of our organization,
Signature World Services.

We are a committed, passionate, and dedicated group of professionals with visions to provide educational opportunities for like minded individuals desiring to expand their thought, culture, language, and experience at an affordable and reasonable expense. We provide both In-bound and Out-bound educational programs for university students in our commitment to the U.S. Department of State as a selected International Student Exchange Sponsor.

In his classic book, The Idea of a University, written in 1859, John Henry Newman wrote, "...the university is a school of knowledge of every kind, consisting of teachers and learners from every quarter [it is] a place for the communication and circulation of thought, by means of personal intercourse, through a wide extent of country." Our students in America are no longer restrained to the educational opportunities which lie between two oceans; indeed today they are being strongly encouraged to expand their experiences by traveling and studying abroad. A US State Department official recently restated our national goals of sending a minimum of one million students abroad in the next six to eight years. This would be a fourfold increase from our recent highest level. You may ask why, but we reply why not and defer to Newman's discourse of long ago: "The general principles of any study you may learn by books at home; but the detail, the colour, the tone, the air, the life which makes it live in us, you must catch all these from those in whom it lives already. You must imitate the student in French or German, who is not content with his grammar, but goes to Paris or Dresden: you must take example from the young artist, who aspires to visit the great Masters in Florence and in Rome".

And he concludes with this prescient statement, "Such is a University in its idea and in its purpose; such in good measure has it before now been in fact. Shall it ever be again?"

We are not here to honor John Henry Newman, but to answer him. Yes it shall be ever again when our students reach the highest level of intellectual experience, ascend the steepest steps of knowledge, and explore the deepest depths of culture while learning the beauty of other languages and the expanse of other thought.

Perhaps when we as a society commit ourselves to these educational ideals we will then begin to see the light of universal harmony and feel the strength of a world economy. To this end we at Signature World Services have dedicated our sacred honor for you students, parents, and teachers.

Respectfully yours,

George Hughes
